A postdoctoral position in mathematics

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Oulu is seeking a Postdoctoral research fellow. The areas of the postdoctoral research should strengthen the research profile of the department.

The doctoral degree certificate of the applicant is required to have been issued after January 1st 2007. Applicants who have gained their doctorate earlier can be considered only for special reasons such as maternity, paternity, parental or childcare leave, military or non-military service or long-time illness.

The appointment will be for three years, or for one year with a possibility of extension for another two years, depending on the candidates experience. The position will be filled from January 1st 2012 or at some later time by agreement.

The salary is based on the teaching and research personnel pay scale levels 5-6, depending on the competence of the candidate. The personal work performance level is evaluated separately. Additional funding will be available for international collaboration and mobility.
